Im a former "lay" midwife from the "old days" when midwives were prosecuted & persecuted in California (1976-1986). After leaving midwifery for over a decade and earning a masters degree in healthcare administration -- I enrolled in Heart & Hands with Elizabeth Davis, and am now a student in the National College of Midwifery in Taos, NM. Karen Baker, a Licensed Midwife, is my preceptor and I work under her license. I hope to be able to qualify to take the NARM licensure exam in 2005-2006. I plan to provide prenatal & postnatal services, childbirth & lactation education, HypnoBirthing sessions, and homebirths in my area of southern California.
