Martha Bryant Lecture, "Promoting

October 13, 2007; Portland, Oregon; sponsored by Chapter VI, Region VI, American College of Nurse-Midwives.
This is to remind you of the upcoming Martha Bryant Lecture, "Promoting
Normal Birth: Challenges and Strategies in the Hospital Setting." Our
distinguished speakers are Yeshi Neumann, CNM, founder of Homestyle
Midwifery, and Holly Powell Kennedy, CNM, a long-time researcher in
midwifery and co-director of the UCSF Midwifery Dept.
They have planned a conference that we hope will lift your spirits
about what is happening and possible in hospitals to promote birthing
normally.
The conference is October 13, 2007 and our new location is the Ambridge
Event Center located at 300 NE Multnomah in Portland. It is next to the
Convention Center (which has a Max stop) and it's easiest to enter the
parking lot from Multnomah. Please ignore the parking meter as parking
is free for conference goers. Registration and continental breakfast
begin at 7:45 and the conference will end at 4:15. It has been approved
for 6 contact hours of CE through ACNM. A chapter meeting for ACNM
members will follow from 4:30-5:30, with some important agenda items.
Members, please plan to stay if you can.
I have attached a copy of the schedule if you did not receive a
brochure.
Pre-registration is encouraged by sending your check for $90 ($45 for
students), to:
